How are you today?
Excellent thank you, how are you?
To begin, could you introduce yourself and tell us a little about your journey as a photographer?
Hello, my name is Elise Hassey and my work explores people, culture, and community in balance with the natural world. I love photographing people and landscapes and have photographed everywhere from the North Pole to Namibia, Mongolia, and East Arnhem Land. I’ve been commissioned by National Geographic, Conde Nast, Tatler, Travel and Luxury to name a few.
How would you describe your style or approach to photography?
My style is authentic, cinematic, I try to blending intimate portraiture with surreal landscapes to create beautiful imagery from the world’s most remote places.
When did you first hear about this exhibition?
This is personal? I have exhibited for around the last 6-7 years, I attended for years prior and being asked to participate has been a career highlight.

How did it feel to see all the works displayed together on the wall in past editions?
Love seeing all of the incredible talent that exists within our industry - theres such a vast array of work and creativity.
What does it mean to you personally to be part of this collective exhibition?
It’s an absolute honour to be included with so many incredible Australian photographers.
What do you hope audiences will take away from experiencing your work here?
I hope the audiences enjoys exploring the beauty of this world through my photography
What projects have you been working on recently (If you can tell)?
Have just returned from assignment shooting in Greenland - an absolutely epic experience of photographing Icebergs.
Is there a future project you’re particularly excited about and would like to share
Excited to be on an underwater shoot in the Maldives.
Looking back, is there a past project you consider a milestone or turning point in your career?
Photographing the Genghis Khan Retreat in Mongolia, opened up a career of photographing boutique adventures in exotic and far reaching places.

How has your photography evolved from when you first started until today?
Absolutely, started out shooting weddings.
What inspires you right now—whether in photography or beyond?
The ocean, always the ocean.
What equipment are you currently using, and why?
Canon R5 2, 70-200, 24-70, 15-35 - its sharp, light and covers all bases.
How does your gear shape your process or the kind of results you aim for?
Is there a photographer, work, or experience that has been especially influential in your path?
What advice would you give to amateur photographers visiting the exhibition
